Role Summary

As a Data Architect at Project X Ltd., you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing end-to-end solutions that address complex business challenges and unlock the value of data for our clients. The Data Architect will collaborate with clients to understand their business goals and develop data strategies aligned with their objectives.

Major Areas of ResponsibilityData Strategy and Planning
  • Develop data strategies aligned with client objectives.
  • Lead the planning and roadmap development for data architecture projects.
Data Modeling and Design
  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Implement best practices for data modeling, including normalization and dimensional modeling techniques.
Data Integration and ETL Development
  • Lead the design and implementation of data integration solutions.
  • Develop and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.
Database Management and Optimization
  • Provide expertise in database management tasks, including performance tuning and capacity planning.
  • Optimize database performance and scalability through indexing strategies and query optimization.
Data Governance and Security
  • Define and enforce data governance policies and standards.
  • Implement access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms to protect sensitive data assets.
Data Visualization and Reporting
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
  • Utilize data visualization tools to create compelling and actionable visualizations.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
  • Create and maintain documentation for data architecture solutions.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members and clients through training sessions and workshops.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other

  • College degree, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and database design.
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools, including ERwin and ER/Studio.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational database management systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes, including Informatica and Talend.
  • Expertise in data visualization and reporting tools, including Power BI and Tableau.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, data security practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, including AWS and Azure.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, including Hadoop and Spark.
  • Certification in relevant technologies or methodologies, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
