Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Plasman. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing process by supplying production materials and assisting the Production Supervisor as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Transportation: Transport materials, components, and packaging to meet production requirements and assist with auxiliary equipment as necessary.
  • Packaging Construction: Construct packaging materials as needed for manufacturing.
  • Material Removal: Remove material and packaging after production runs have been completed.
  • Job Identification: Ensure all job-specific items are clearly identified.
  • Forklift Maintenance: Ensure the forklift is in good mechanical condition and complete a daily checklist for safe operation.
  • Delivery and Storage: Maintain a timely delivery and orderly storage of packaging and components.
  • Team Support: Provide assistance to other workers when time is available or requested by the Production Supervisor.
  • Skid Management: Maintain skid counts as required.
  • Teamwork and Safety: Promote an atmosphere of teamwork and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Compliance: Work in compliance with the Quality and Business Operating Systems and all health and safety and environmental legislation.
  • Additional Duties: Complete any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed some or all of a College level program.
  • Experience: Must have at least 1-5 years of experience in materials, with preference given to those who have experience specific to plastic injection molding and/or assembly in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations and build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
