We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as a Senior Legal Counsel. As a key member of our Legal Services Division, you will provide expert legal advice and representation to the provincial government on a wide range of matters.
Key Responsibilities- Advise Ministers, Deputy/Associate Deputy Ministers, and other senior government leaders on legal matters;
- Draft and interpret statutes and regulations;
- Assist with submissions to Cabinet;
- Present information about government and law to the public;
- Serve on project teams with senior and intermediate staff of client departments.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a practicing member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society, in good standing, with a minimum of 3 years of legal experience at the bar. Experience advising government departments, Crown corporations, and other public sector entities is an asset.
