Maintenance Director

PreCon Precast Limited is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a high-performing maintenance team to ensure they meet objectives and adhere to company guidelines.
- Develop and implement shift schedules and labour resource plans to optimize staffing levels.
- Direct and lead the Maintenance team in scheduling, preventative maintenance, and repair of all production equipment.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment through compliance with company policies and Health and Safety Program.
- Develop and maintain a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program/schedule to ensure operational efficiency.
- Schedule internal and external work to optimize planned downtime and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Coordinate with outside contractors to ensure safe and compliant work practices.
- Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems are met.
- Assist in establishing and implementing operating and capital budgets for maintenance.
- Manage the introduction of new machinery, plant, and equipment from specification to installation.
- Manage the disposal of obsolete machinery, plant, and equipment.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions to maintain continuous production.
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
- Develop and manage work associated with key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and machine performance.
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years plant maintenance/facility maintenance experience with a minimum of two years in a leadership capacity.
- Extensive plant level experience with significant proven people management experience.
- Completed a fully indentured apprenticeship with a mechanical/electrical/electronic discipline.
- Technical capability and understanding.
- Familiarity with OHSA standards relating to industrial and construction operations.
- Experience with PLC controls, PC's, PM and TPM systems.
- Experience in managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for maintenance.
- Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
