Job Summary

Bedard Resources is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mine Safety Specialist to join our team as a Senior Mines Inspector - Regulatory Compliance. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance in the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of surface and underground mines to ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including mine management and safety committees, to discuss safety issues and provide guidance and resources.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and prepare written reports to the Deputy Chief Safety Officer.
  • Issue orders to mine managers to comply with regulations when necessary.
  • Develop and implement safety management systems, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Provide expert testimony in court cases related to non-compliance with regulations.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as mining engineering, safety management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mine safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate incidents and accidents.
