Bedard Resources is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mine Safety Specialist to join our team as a Senior Mines Inspector - Regulatory Compliance. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance in the mining industry.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular inspections of surface and underground mines to ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including mine management and safety committees, to discuss safety issues and provide guidance and resources.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, and prepare written reports to the Deputy Chief Safety Officer.
- Issue orders to mine managers to comply with regulations when necessary.
- Develop and implement safety management systems, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
- Provide expert testimony in court cases related to non-compliance with regulations.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as mining engineering, safety management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mine safety and regulatory compliance.
- Proven track record of ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
