Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Woodlands Operations Supervisor to join our Cariboo Woodlands Division in Williams Lake, British Columbia. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a sustainable supply of lumber to our local sawmills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement operational plans that meet mill volume requirements, ensure efficient access to wood supply, and consider multi-stakeholder requirements consistent with Tolko's Forest Stewardship Plan.
  • Manage quality control while working with other professionals, including Registered Professional Foresters, Registered Forestry Technicians, hydrologists, and biologists.
  • Build relationships with First Nation partners and other stakeholders, including tenure holders, landowners, government, and communities.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve operational goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of related industry experience.
  • Post-secondary education in Forestry.
  • Active Registered Professional Forester or Forester Technician designation.
  • Experience in managing projects and leading a team to success.
  • Possess a good understanding of forest management, including planning, timber development, roads, and timber harvesting.
  • Ability to build relationships with local contractors, stakeholders, and Indigenous Communities.
  • Unwavering commitment to safety while working in the field.
  • Self-directed time-management skills.
