General Accountant Job Description

Elby Professional Recruitment Inc is seeking a highly skilled General Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for assisting the Controller in bookkeeping tasks, focusing on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly payroll and ensure accurate payment to employees
  • Coordinate with various departments to obtain AP invoices and ensure timely payment
  • Compile AP reporting for final approvals and maintain accurate ageing reports
  • Prepare and send invoices to customers, ensuring timely payment and follow-up on outstanding balances
  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare journal entries as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong accounting skills and knowledge of financial software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
