Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Drafting Specialist to join our team at Demand For HR. As an Electrical Engineering Drafting Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our design engineering team by preparing complex engineering drawings and supporting calculations and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support junior and senior electrical engineers in a team environment to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Prepare complex engineering drawings using 2D computer-aided design software, and supporting calculations and documentation to meet project requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate drawings in various formats for approval and/or use by project stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.
  • Understand electrical distribution systems to design and modify drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform project administration functions, including drawing distribution and management, coordination and communication with project stakeholders, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Understand and follow utility and municipal standards to ensure compliance and accuracy in drawings and documentation.
  • Maintain project information, drawings, files, spreadsheets, and records to ensure easy access and retrieval.
  • Attend design and project coordination meetings as required to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Summarize parts and materials from available literature and database to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Perform subdivision inspections for assumption reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Perform contract administration functions, including tender, award, quantity review, completion, and assumption work, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Work occasional evenings or weekends to meet deadlines and ensure project completion.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned to ensure flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a college program in Civil or Electrical Engineering Technical with drafting/CAD training.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in EE Drafter/Project Administration.
  • Understanding of electrical distribution systems preferred.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Detailed working knowledge of Autocad and MicroStation drafting software.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with good command of the English language, written and oral.
  • Able to work well in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Creative and detail-oriented independent thinker.
  • Prepared to work occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver's license and own car.
