About the Role

The Operations Manager has the primary responsibility of leading our organizational processes to efficiency. To maintain and grow this standard, we're seeking an experienced operations manager to oversee daily activities. As an ideal candidate, you'll have a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead safety culture at the facility, work closely with EHS team to ensure activities remain compliant
  • Improve SQDCP metrics to world-class levels
  • Act as change agent and facilitate Operational Excellence while ensuring buy-in and support across the organization
  • Create capacity improvements to match and exceed the growth aspirations of the business through the correct application of Lean methodology
  • Ensure the floor has the right parts in the right place at the right time for efficient material flow
  • Create SOPs for all processes and train against the standard
  • Develop and maintain skills matrices to ensure cross-training and skill succession
  • Act as coach and mentor to the team and create robust development plans for the team
  • Collaborate with operational leaders within the group to ensure shared best practice
  • Lead, motivate, and support a direct labor team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution
  • Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service
  • Ability to communicate with specific directions and procedures to follow in carrying out assigned tasks
  • Monitor team members on site during production activities to ensure compliance with the standards of operations, ethics, and safety procedures
  • Recognize the contributions of every team member and encourage them to work together in harmony, sharing ideas and maintaining good relationships in the execution of production tasks
  • Track staffing requirements, interview, and assist with selecting new hires
  • Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols
  • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization's internal capacity
  • Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the process flow within the manufacturing floor

Key Performance Measures (0-12 months)

  • Improve safety and recordables
  • Improve OTD and Past Due Backlog
  • Improve and manage healthy safety stock levels for all stocked SKUs
  • Lead continuous improvement cultural transformation
  • Implement Lean Methodologies and create a visual factory with one-piece flow
  • Improve efficiencies and margins to meet financial requirements around EBITDA
  • Meeting working capital (PPV, MUV, Inventory accuracy, VAVE) goals for the Plant

Requirements

  • Proven experience implementing lean methodologies including Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving Process/A3, SMED, TPM, Standard Work, Kaizen, 5S, etc.
  • Experience with developing a Lean implementation roadmap and execution
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, business management, or related field
  • 5+ years manufacturing experience with a minimum 3 years supervisory/management role
  • Knowledge of general business software, ERP, and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
