Justrite Safety Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily activities and maintain the efficiency of our organizational processes. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity.
About the RoleThe Operations Manager will be responsible for leading safety culture at the facility, improving SQDCP metrics, and implementing Lean methodologies. They will also create capacity improvements, ensure the floor has the right parts in the right place, and develop SOPs for all processes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead safety culture at the facility and work closely with the EHS team to ensure compliance
- Improve SQDCP metrics to world-class levels
- Act as a change agent and facilitate Operational Excellence while ensuring buy-in and support across the organization
- Create capacity improvements to match and exceed business growth aspirations through the correct application of Lean methodology
- Ensure the floor has the right parts in the right place at the right time for efficient material flow
- Create SOPs for all processes and train against the standard
- Develop and maintain skills matrices to ensure cross-training and skill succession
- Act as a coach and mentor to the team and create robust development plans
- Collaborate with operational leaders within the group to ensure shared best practice
- Lead, motivate, and support a direct labor team in a time-sensitive and demanding environment
- Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics and achieve productivity targets
- Ability to communicate specific directions and procedures to follow in carrying out assigned tasks
- Monitor team members on site during production activities to ensure compliance with standards of operations, ethics, and safety procedures
- Recognize the contributions of every team member and encourage them to work together in harmony
- Track staffing requirements, interview, and assist with selecting new hires
- Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols
- Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization's internal capacity
- Partner with cross-functional support teams to improve process flow within the manufacturing floor
- Improve safety and recordables
- Improve OTD and Past Due Backlog
- Improve and manage healthy safety stock levels for all stocked SKUs
- Lead continuous improvement cultural transformation
- Implement Lean Methodologies and create a visual factory with one-piece flow
- Improve efficiencies and margins to meet financial requirements around EBITDA
- Meet working capital (PPV, MUV, Inventory accuracy, VAVE) goals for the Plant
To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:
- Proven experience implementing lean methodologies, including Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving Process/A3, SMED, TPM, Standard Work, Kaizen, 5S, etc.
- Experience with developing a Lean implementation roadmap and execution
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, business management, or a related field
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management role
- Knowledge of general business software, ERP, and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

- Experience with manufacturing optimization and footprint analysis
- Experience working in a team environment, preferably with a small to medium-sized company
- Diligently follow safe work practices for yourself and team members at all times
- Demonstrated results meeting performance metrics
- Demonstrated ability to effectively set goals, lead, and motivate others
- Organized with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Must be able to work in a flexible team environment
- Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
