The South Peace Historical Society is seeking a highly skilled Executive Director to lead our organization and drive its mission forward. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to take on a leadership role and make a meaningful impact in the community.
About UsWe are a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, and showcasing the history of the South Peace region. Our team is passionate about sharing the stories of our community's past and ensuring that they are accessible to everyone.
Job DescriptionThe Executive Director will be responsible for leading our daily operations, supervising staff and volunteers, and overseeing our financial management processes. Key responsibilities include:
- Financial Management: Develop and oversee the budget, grant applications, and fundraising efforts to ensure the sustainability of our organization.
- Program Management: Lead the planning and execution of new and current programming, subject to Board approval, to engage the community and promote our mission.
- Human Resources: Supervise and support society staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Facility Management: Ensure our facilities are well maintained and accessible to the public, reflecting our commitment to community engagement.
- Operations: Manage daily operations, covering volunteer or staff vacancies as needed, to maintain business continuity.
- Board Support: Provide regular reporting to the society executive on operations, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Community Relations: Act as a key spokesperson, fostering community relationships and advocacy to promote our mission and values.
- Marketing and Communications: Advise on and implement communications and marketing objectives to enhance our online presence and engagement.
Maintain and grow the South Peace Historical Society in collaboration with the Board of Directors, driving strategic growth and development.
RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you will require:
- Conversant with financial management processes.
- Prior experience with general management and work relationships.
- Prior experience in administration within a non-profit organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of archival and museum functions.
- Passion for the South Peace and its history.
- Possession of a clean Class 5 BC Drivers Licence.
This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $25 per hour, paid time off, dental care, extended health care, and a supportive work environment.
