Job Title: Aboriginal Infant Development Support Worker

Seabird Island Band is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Aboriginal Infant Development Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Early Childhood Education department, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of Indigenous children from birth to three years old.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to children in licensed childcare centers, assessing their development and creating plans to enhance their growth and well-being.
  • Collaborate with families and center staff to develop and implement individual service plans that reflect the unique needs and priorities of each child.
  • Administer developmental assessments and draft reports to inform family-centered practice and early intervention strategies.
  • Facilitate group facilitation and work with a multi-disciplinary team to promote healthy development and well-being.
  • Act as a resource person to parents and families, providing guidance on traditional and contemporary parenting practices.
Requirements:
  • License to practice in Early Childhood Education in BC.
  • Current Infant Toddler Certification in BC.
  • Diploma in Special Needs and Disabilities (considered an asset).
  • Experience in inclusive, family-centered service delivery, child development, and early intervention.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • Knowledge, respect, and understanding of Stó:lō culture, traditions, and language (or willingness to learn).
