We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team at Thai Pinto Cuisine as an Executive Chef - Kitchen Operations Manager.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, preparing and cooking meals, training staff, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Culinary Tasks: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and prepare special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef.
- Inspections and Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and clean kitchen and work areas.
- Staff Supervision and Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, supervise kitchen staff and helpers, and order supplies and equipment.
- Restaurant: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, working under pressure.
- Cuisine Specialties: Canadian, Thai.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Experience is an asset.
- Personal Characteristics: Attention to detail, client focus, dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, judgment, organized, reliability, team player.
- Work Conditions: 40 hours per week, work term: permanent, work language: English.
$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
