Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medicine team at Royal Columbian Hospital. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the development of our team's knowledge and expertise.
About the Role
In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care in our acute inpatient areas. Your strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals will be essential in providing high-quality care to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, identify care needs, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional care team
- Deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment that promotes patient autonomy, dignity, and choice
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to educate and empower them in their healthcare journey
- Participate in care conferences, committees, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and promote best practices
- Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices, research, and policies to maintain and enhance your clinical competence
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals in a respectful and empathetic manner
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills to manage a heavy caseload and meet deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team, promoting a culture of safety, respect, and open communication
