About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join our team at MAGS 99 Fried Chicken and Mexican Cantina. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload dishes, utensils, and equipment from dishwashers and storage areas.
  • Operate dishwashers to wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, and flatware.
  • Prepare and package take-out food for customers.
  • Portion and wrap food items for service.
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items according to recipes and kitchen standards.
  • Stock refrigerators, salad bars, and other storage areas with food and supplies.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas.
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits for preparation.
Work Environment

This is a fast-paced environment that requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a team. You will be standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.

Requirements
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.

  • Will to learn and take direction.
  • Participation in a government or community program that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
Language and Work Schedule

This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek. The language of work is English.
