Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced business leader to join our Canadian HR Leadership team as Vice President of Communications. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, innovative, and results-driven communications expert with a passion for storytelling and experience in issues and stakeholder management.



The successful Vice President, Communications will be responsible for developing and building on a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives. This includes managing outcomes in a complex and matrixed organization, building and maintaining positive media relations and public relations crisis, and overseeing corporate recognition programs.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy that supports the company's business objectives.
  • Manage a team of communications professionals to develop and implement internal and external communications initiatives.
  • Brief senior leadership on key communications messages and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Maintain positive media relations and respond to media inquiries in a timely and effective manner.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of employee recognition programs to enhance morale and engagement.
  • Monitor and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of communications initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong presentation, writing and content creation skills.
  • Experience in issues and stakeholder management, with a proven ability to build strong relationships.
  • A deep understanding of the company's business and values, with the ability to communicate these effectively through various channels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.


Compensation Package:


We offer a competitive compensation package, including an estimated annual salary of $120,000 to $150,000, depending on experience. In addition to a base salary, you can also expect a range of benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, a retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
