Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at T'lisalagi'lakw School. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education to our students with diverse learning needs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement inquiry-based learning opportunities that cater to the unique needs of our students.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans to ensure students' academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers, education assistants, and cultural workers to enhance learning outcomes and provide support to students.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents to ensure a collaborative approach to student success.
  • Enforce the school's discipline policy and participate in supervisory and extra-curricular teams as required.
  • Provide written student evaluation reports and attend parent-teacher conferences.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Education, Special Education certification preferred.
  • Member in good standing with the BC College of Teachers.
  • 2 years' special education teaching experience in a First Nations environment preferred.
  • Satisfactory criminal records and vulnerable sector search.
