Special Education Teacher Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at T'lisalagi'lakw School. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement inquiry-based, problem-solving, and project-based learning opportunities to engage students and promote academic success.
  • Implement specialized instructional intervention methods and approaches to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, education assistants, and cultural workers to enhance learning outcomes and provide a supportive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Ensure that students' overall needs for achieving success are met, and provide regular progress updates to parents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education, Special Education certification preferred.
  • Member in good standing with the BC College of Teachers.
  • 2 years' special education teaching experience in a First Nations environment preferred.
  • Satisfactory criminal records and vulnerable sector search.
