Job Title: Shift Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Manager to join our team at Port Hawkesbury Paper. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and results-driven individual to lead the efficient management of Mill Operations on a 12-hour shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monday to Friday day shifts, majority of time spent in the Paper Machine Department
  • Night shifts and weekends, responsible for the entire mill and assist with the management of power dispatching communications with NSPI
  • Interact with the Maintenance, Shipping, Scheduling, and other departments, as well as suppliers and consultants as required
  • Ensure activities are optimized for safety and environmental compliance, quality, efficiency, and cost control
  • Support all safety and training programs
  • Lead the Mill Emergency Response Team

  • Capability to effectively manage employees - leadership and coaching skills are essential
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills
