Healthcare Manager

Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent leadership skills? Do you have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a skilled Manager, Team Assistants to join our team at Home and Community Care Support Services.
Job Summary:The Manager, Team Assistants will be responsible for leading a team of Team Assistants to deliver quality patient care within a specific geographic and program area. This role will involve managing the workload of direct reports, approving/denying leave requests, and informing HRIS Coordinators of relief staffing needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of Team Assistants to deliver quality patient care
- Manage the workload of direct reports
- Approve/deny leave requests for direct reports
- Inform HRIS Coordinators of relief staffing needs
- Responsible for approval of overtime and planned absences
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, orientation, mentoring, and performance management of Team Assistants
- Evaluate the performance of Team Assistants based on specific performance objectives
- Extrapolate reports from Quadrant to monitor absenteeism
- Responsible to ensure that Team Assistants maintain Outlook calendars on a daily basis
- Responsible to complete the Operations Report on a monthly basis
- Chair Team meetings approximately every two months
- Assist in the establishment and ensure compliance of organizational short-term and long-term goals with overall corporate objectives
- Improve operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the organization's mission
- Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence
- Attend regular meetings with the management team
- Engage and lead staff in change management initiatives
- Assist the Director, Patient Services with developing policies and procedures for Patient Services
- Assist the Director, Patient Services as required
- Provide education and training for new initiatives
- Review and follow up in our Risk Event Management System
- First point of contact for step one grievances
- Participate in chart audits
- Other duties as assigned
- Degree in Business/Health Care/Public Administration or a combination of experience and education
- 3-5 years' of management and leadership experience in a healthcare environment with specific demonstrated experience in a Team Assistant role
- Significant experience in diverse and unionized community healthcare environments
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Health atHome priorities, policies, practices, and service standards
- Strong knowledge of computer systems used in Ontario Health atHome such as CHRIS, DMS, e-Referral
- Strong knowledge of the collective agreement provisions
- Good understanding of Human Rights and Privacy legislation
- Familiarity of Employment Standards Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs with the ability to produce reports
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrates creativity and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, team building, diplomacy, communication, and presentation skills
