Nursing Professional in Oncology Care

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at BC Cancer, providing comprehensive cancer care services to patients in Surrey.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring seamless treatment coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, and treatment coordination
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications, injections, blood products, and IV fluids as required by the care plan
- Maintain accurate patient records, collecting and documenting relevant information
- Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and Centre directives
- Assist patients in interpreting their care plans, referring them to other healthcare professionals as needed
- Ensure a safe environment for patients, families, and staff by adhering to emergency procedures and safety policies
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)
- One year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and ability to apply it effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Awareness of and commitment to reconciliation, cultural safety, and Indigenous Peoples' rights
