Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide safe, evidence-informed quality nursing care to an acute medical and surgical patient population. This will involve combining interpersonal communication with clinical knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications, perform various medical procedures, and provide wound care and management.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, provide education, and support patients and families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to the development of policies and procedures, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Requirements:
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Recent medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting.
  • Coronary Care I certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Previous cardiac monitoring experience is an asset.
