The Georgetown Hospital Emergency Department is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires skilled and compassionate nurses to provide high-quality patient care. As a Registered Nurse in our ED, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to patients of all ages, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Participate in triage and in-charge responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective patient flow.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Stay current with best practices and evidence-based guidelines in emergency nursing.
Requirements:
- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card upon hire.
- Previous Emergency Department experience required.
- Experience in triage and in-charge responsibilities required.
- ACLS certificate required at time of hire and ongoing.
- Completion of an on-site sponsored course is required within one year of hire date.
- Successful completion of Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification Exam would be an asset.
- Successful completion of post-diploma Emergency courses, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, would be an asset.
- Basic ECG interpretation and 12 lead ECG application and interpretation preferred.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
Working Conditions:
The Emergency Department is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. You will be working in a team environment with a variety of healthcare professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, and other nurses. You will be required to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as weekends and holidays.
