Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our Inpatient Mental Health team at Brightshores. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide patient care within your professional scope of practice, working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes in a safe and therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients and colleagues in achieving positive outcomes
- Conduct psychosocial and psychiatric assessments, including risk assessments
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Provide education and support to patients and their support persons
- Work cooperatively within a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Adhere to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies
Requirements
- Current Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility
- Certificate in Psychiatric Nursing from a recognized Community College or willingness to obtain the same
- Recent psychiatric nursing experience within the past three years
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Act, Substitute Decision Makers Act, HCCA, and the DSM-V-TR
