Job Summary

The Registered Nurse works as a collaborative member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide support to patients requiring hospital resources, technical support and/or skilled personnel in an outpatient clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients in an ambulatory care setting
  • Collaborate with the inter-disciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Conduct physical assessments and provide technical support as needed
  • Work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing clinical environment with minimal supervision
  • Adhere to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours and 'LEAD' Competencies

Requirements

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario registration or eligibility
  • Physical Assessment course
  • Three years' broad Medical/Surgical experience
  • PowerChart/Orders training or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing population and patient needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all team members
  • Excellent interviewing and patient assessment skills
  • Excellent leadership, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills
  • Self-directed ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing clinical environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work all shifts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree in nursing
  • Additional Education pertaining to surgery/medicine
  • BCLS Certification
