Recreation Therapy Specialist

Interior Health is seeking a Recreation Therapy Worker to join our team in the Southern Interior region of British Columbia. As a Recreation Therapy Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents through the implementation of engaging and therapeutic recreation programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individual and group leisure/recreation therapy programs, including arts, socio-cultural events, crafts, sports, music, cooking, gardening, and exercises.
- Set up and organize furnishings and equipment for programs and special events to create a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Participate with clients during outings, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Provide guidance and impart techniques related to the programs to residents, fostering their participation and enjoyment.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, supervisors, and therapists to report and promptly address any changes or issues, maintaining a seamless and supportive care environment.
