Interior Health invites passionate and dedicated individuals to apply for the Recreation Therapy Worker position, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of residents through the implementation of engaging and therapeutic recreation programs.
About the Role
As a Recreation Therapy Worker, you will work within a client-centered model and as an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, contributing significantly to the overall health and happiness of those in our care. Your responsibilities will include executing established individual and group leisure/recreation therapy programs, setting up and organizing furnishings and equipment, actively participating with clients during outings, and providing guidance and techniques related to the programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized and group leisure/recreation therapy programs to meet the diverse needs of residents.
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff, supervisors, and therapists to report and address any changes or issues, maintaining a seamless and supportive care environment.
- Provide guidance and instruction to residents on various leisure/recreation activities, promoting their participation and enjoyment.
- Work effectively with clients to ensure their comfort and well-being during outings and activities.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Completion of a recognized recreation course(s) plus two year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Class 4 Driver's License for Recreation Therapy Worker | Bus Driver positions.
