About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team at Rona Inc. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth receipt and loading of goods, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and Loading: Safely operate a propane or diesel gas counterbalanced-type forklift and/or reach truck to receive and load goods, inspecting prepared loads for accuracy and completeness.
  • Inventory Management: Inspect the forklift and its equipment in accordance with Rona's standards and applicable laws, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service according to SMART principles for in-store pickup, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Participate in department maintenance, performing tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Order Preparation: Help prepare orders and load trucks, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of goods to customers.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Hold a valid forklift operator certification and a driver's license.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to perform continuous physical work, including lifting weights of up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds), and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Communication Skills: Possess good oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate a cooperative approach and team player attitude, prioritizing tasks and responding to changing situations appropriately.
  • Organizational Skills: Possess good organizational skills, with the ability to receive and process multiple deliveries efficiently.
