About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team at Rona Inc. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and Loading: Safely operate a propane or diesel gas counterbalanced-type forklift and/or reach truck to receive and load goods into storage areas.
  • Inventory Management: Inspect prepared loads for accuracy and completeness, comparing loads to transfer requests and ensuring that all goods are properly stored and accounted for.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Inspect the forklift and its equipment in accordance with Rona Inc. standards and applicable laws, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the continued safe operation of the equipment.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other warehouse staff to achieve team goals and objectives, and participate in departmental maintenance and improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possess a valid forklift operator certification and a driver's license.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to perform continuous physical work, including lifting weights of up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds), and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess good oral communication skills, a cooperative approach, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Be able to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
