Social Work Instructor

Job Summary:
Northern Lakes College is seeking a highly qualified Instructor, Social Work to join our team. As a key member of our Human Services department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational programs to students in a distance/distributed program delivery model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver curriculum that meets College standards for each course.
- Plan and facilitate student learning, using distance education technology and varied media as appropriate.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
- Manage the classroom effectively, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Participate in team activities, collaborating with colleagues to identify and implement instructional team student retention activities.
- Conduct semester student evaluations and modify the curriculum and services as indicated by the evaluations.
- Provide academic assistance, program and career information, and referrals to College services to students.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Social Work.
- Two years of recent related work experience and demonstrated competence in the occupational/subject area.
- Eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
- Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality educational programs.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel.
- Knowledge of and experience in Aboriginal Communities.
- Experience teaching adults.
- Experience using distance education technologies.
- Experience developing curriculum.
