Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Skilled Labourer/Apprentice Carpenter with a strong work ethic, the desire to be part of a team, and the skills to assist in the construction of a multifamily project in the Edmonton region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to building code and corporate safety requirements on all sites
  • Carpentry work that falls outside of the scope of work of subtrades
  • Oversight of subtrade work
  • Perform touch ups and repairs on subtrade deficiencies
  • Perform frame checks and mechanical checks
  • Finish carpentry work
  • Quality management inspections and reporting
  • Report issues as they arise to the superintendent
  • Proficient knowledge and use of power tools such as air nailers, skill saw, screw gun
  • Mentor novice workers
  • Other tasks as required by the site foreman / site superintendent

Requirements:

  • Experience in finish carpentry is an asset
  • Equipment operation experience is an asset (zoom boom / skid steer)
  • Knowledge of building code and safety code requirements
  • Be organized, interpersonal and strong communicator with the ability to build excellent relationships with subtrades and workers on site
  • Candidate must have excellent time management skills, have the ability to prioritize work and be results driven
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong understanding of quality standards
  • Highly organized, results-oriented and able to work in a multi-functional team environment
  • Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license
