If you are looking for your next challenge as a senior learning and development professional, Bird Construction has a unique and exciting opportunity for a candidate that is passionate about employee and organizational results. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Learning & Development, the Senior, Operational Learning Specialist is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of construction core operational learning solutions. The incumbent will support the upskilling and reskilling of our teams, growing the operational learning bench strength and fostering Bird's culture of operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with construction operational experts in the development of unrivalled learning solutions that drive high performance specific to construction core processes.

What You Will Be Working On

- Manage projects and initiatives including documentation and reporting of the instructional design and course delivery process including learner and facilitator manuals, delivery supports, and administrative reporting assets.
- Lead a highly collaborative design and development process with construction operational subject matter experts.
- Conduct learning needs analysis to guide the design of operational learning solutions partnering with operational subject matter experts.
- Design case study learning experiences and other skills-based application to enhance learning and prepare our people for real-world challenges in the construction field.
- Design a range of learning solutions to support the uptake of construction operational knowledge, skills, and processes for a range of delivery methods including instructor led classroom and virtual, and e learning solutions (e.g., eLearning, instructor led learning, microlearning including videos, job aids, performance supports, podcasts etc.).
- Proficient using a variety of development tools and software (e.g., PowerPoint, Articulate 360, Vyond, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
- Create communication and marketing strategies to promote the uptake of learning solutions across Bird's operational teams.
- Ensure that learning solutions and assets are relevant and effective in accordance with best practices and business standards, while exploring new methodologies and joint learning opportunities.
- Conduct pilot and train the facilitator sessions prior to handoff to operations facilitators.
- Analyze results and make recommendations to ensure the quality and relevance of learning initiatives, learning transfer, and maximum learning impact for the organization.

What We Are Looking For

- Minimum five (5) years of experience with a focus on talent development.
- A team player who enjoys building collaborative partnerships to achieve results.
- Strong project management skills combined with the ability to design and deliver learning solutions.
- Excellent instructional design, consulting, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and master new applications (Workday Learning, Articulate, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Strong Microsoft Suite applications is required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- Knowledge of the construction industry or other industry's operational processes is an asset.
- Experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) an asset.
- Open to occasional travel to various locations across the country.
