Job Summary:

Ainsworth, a subsidiary of GDI, is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Apprentice to join our growing team in Sudbury. As a key member of our team, you will assist Journeyman on Sheetmetal project and installation work, ensuring high-quality results and meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Journeyman on Sheetmetal project and installation work, adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineered drawings, and other technical documents to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
  • Safely lift and move heavy materials and equipment, up to 50lbs, as required.
  • Perform shop and office cleaning, equipment and furniture moving, and other tasks as needed to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Assist with site cleanup and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Pick up and deliver materials and equipment as required, utilizing a valid driver's license.

Requirements:

  • Hold Ontario Journeyman credentials or be an Ontario indentured apprentice.
  • Have experience with the installation of Ductwork, venting, appliance installations, and other related tasks.
  • Furnace installation experience is an asset.
  • Be able to work with Sheet Metal in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Perform heavy lifting and work with a high degree of safety.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to interact with customers professionally.
  • Pass security clearance.
