Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate to join our Bridges team in Markham, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting structural engineering designs, calculations, and sketches under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

This is a full-time role expected to begin in the near future. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including bridge design and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural engineering designs, calculations, and sketches under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Use computer software to solve basic engineering problems.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Contribute to the writing, typing, editing, and/or formatting of technical letters and reports.
  • Prepare and review contract specifications, including cost estimates and quantities.
  • Undertake site inspections of structures.

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed or be completing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
  • Preferred qualifications include 1+ years of structural design experience working with Canadian codes and design standards, familiarity with bridge components and design, experience designing in steel, concrete, and wood, and competence in MS Office.
