Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Insurance Underwriter to join our team at Alliant Insurance Services. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing insurance submissions, identifying potential risks, and developing effective risk management strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze insurance submissions to identify potential risks and develop effective risk management strategies
  • Collaborate with account managers and retail producers to obtain additional information and ensure complete submissions
  • Analyze policies and endorsements to identify errors, omissions, or discrepancies
  • Order necessary reports and documents to support the underwriting process
  • Issue policies and endorsements, and coordinate policy delivery with related documents
  • Provide technical expertise to account managers to resolve complex issues
  • Assist in training of assistant underwriters and administrative staff
  • Comply with agency management system data standards and data integrity
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Six (6) or more years related work experience; knowledge of insurance industry preferred
  • Valid insurance license; must continue to meet requirements for license renewal
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
