Insurance Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team at Alliant Insurance Services. As a key member of our Commercial Insurance team, you will be responsible for reviewing, underwriting, and rating broker submissions for new and renewal business for our Insurance Program for First Nations.
Key Responsibilities- Underwrite a book of business, both new and renewal, in accordance with underwriting guidelines;
- Analyze policies and endorsements to identify errors, omissions, or discrepancies to ensure agreement with application, quote, proposal, and/or binder;
- Order necessary reports or documents critical to the underwriting process, such as credit, location, motor vehicle, and/or inspection reports, as well as building cost estimates;
- Analyze inspection reports to accept or reject new business;
- Issue policies and endorsements, bind coverage, and coordinate binders/evidences;
- Prepare Renewal Specifications as required by management;
- Coordinate the preparation of policy delivery with all related documents;
- Service Account Manager calls, answer questions regarding client coverage, limits, and deductibles;
- Maintain files for submissions and written or lost business;
- Maintain client suspense and conduct follow-ups as appropriate;
- Serve as a technical expert, assisting Account Managers to resolve complex issues;
- Assist in training of Assistant Underwriters and administrative staff;
- Comply with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enter and maintain complete and accurate information);
- Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six (6) or more years related work experience; knowledge of insurance industry preferred.
Requires a valid insurance license; must continue to meet requirements for license renewal.
Requires a valid driver's license.
