About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Technical Specialist to join our team at Daiken North America LTD in Huntsville, Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer and wholesale distributor of perimeter security and fencing solutions.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and ensuring product compliance to our quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements. This role serves as a liaison between customers and plant personnel, managing our ISO and compliance program while working on environmental and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all lab and technical activities
  • Maintain the CPA/EPP Certification Program
  • Assist in testing and evaluating new products (trials)
  • Maintain calibration of testing equipment throughout the plant
  • Assist production in determining product specification
  • Collect and analyze data for analysis
  • Manage, establish, implement, and maintain an efficient Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the organization as required by ISO 9001-2000
  • Report QMS performance on an ongoing basis and ensure compliance by all departments
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate customer requirements, complaints, and feedback throughout the organization
  • Act as company representative with the CPA
  • Oversee and participate in environmental monitoring and compliance
  • Arrange and conduct ISO audits and management review meetings
  • Deal with customer complaints, claims, returns, and technical requests
  • Coordinate and provide technical assistance with product trials
  • Provide technical assistance throughout the plant as required
  • Oversee testing programs and calibration programs set out
  • Assist in evaluating nonconforming products in the plant
  • Evaluate and develop improved techniques for control of quality and reliability
  • Work with the Lab Technician as a team to complete daily production testing and reporting as required
  • Report any products inspected or tested that are out of specification
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Five years of experience in industrial particleboard/treating/laminating manufacturing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, trouble-shooting, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with people of all levels and departments to garner resources and knowledge needed to accomplish goals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field; knowledge of industrial, H&S, and quality standards; ISO Auditor training

Compensation

This full-time position comes with a competitive salary range of $57,350 to $65,000 CAD, including a comprehensive benefits package featuring extended health care, a registered pension plan with company match, and more.
