Job Title: Reporter Editor
Job Summary:
CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a skilled Reporter Editor to join our team in Halifax. As a key member of our news team, you will be responsible for researching and pitching stories, writing, producing, and presenting engaging content for our audiences. This is a full-time temporary position until December 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and pitch stories that meet corporate standards and policies
- Write, produce, and present informative content for radio, online, and TV
- Generate material that showcases diverse voices and perspectives from our listening area
- Collaborate with the team to ensure high-quality content meets journalistic standards
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our audience's needs and preferences
Requirements:
- Strong journalistic track record and excellent writing and production skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of digital storytelling and multimedia production
- Ability to travel within Nova Scotia on assignment and work flexible hours, including weekends and early mornings
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets CBC/Radio-Canada's insurance company requirements
