Job Title: Reporter Editor
About the Role:
CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a skilled Reporter Editor to join our team in Halifax. As a key member of our news team, you will be responsible for researching and pitching stories, writing, producing, and presenting engaging content for our audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and pitch story ideas that meet the needs of our young BIPOC audience
- Research and write compelling content for radio, online, and TV
- Produce and present live reports, ensuring a strong journalistic track record
- Collaborate with colleagues to create engaging content that reflects the diversity of our communities
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in visual storytelling
Requirements:
- Strong journalistic skills and a commitment to accuracy, fairness, and balance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and experience in digital storytelling and multimedia production
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong presentation skills for broadcast, including live reporting
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or demonstrated lived experience
