We are currently seeking a highly skilled Facilities Manager - Building Maintenance to join our team at our Nova Scotia properties. Reporting directly to the Manager- Building Operations, this key role will be responsible for overseeing and executing maintenance tasks, conducting thorough site inspections, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment that enhances business operations.

The successful candidate will drive continuous improvements in energy efficiency, maintain exceptionally high standards of quality and performance, and ensure cost-effectiveness in their work.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Client Services Team to deliver an outstanding Tenant experience by providing day-to-day facility management support.
  • Coordinate with vendors to guarantee timely completion of contracted services, and oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Address tenant requests in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
  • Monitor and report energy consumption patterns.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
  • Maintain detailed records of all building systems operations and maintenance activities.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of seven to ten years' work experience in a related field.
  • A college or university degree/diploma/certification in HVAC, Controls, and/or Building Operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage external consultants and contractors as required.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
