The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Process Lead to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will play a crucial role in developing, advising, and improving department-level processes and procedures. Your focus will be on employee experience, including recruitment, onboarding, faculty evaluation, and career development for both faculty members and staff.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, advise, and improve processes and procedures related to employee experience.
  2. Ensure alignment of department processes with University and HR policies.
  3. Provide guidance and support on faculty and staff career development, promotion, and evaluation processes.
  4. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure consistent and efficient HR practices.
  5. Supervise the Department Coordinator and AMHSP Coordinator to ensure timely and effective HR support for the department.
  6. Serve as the first point of escalation for troubleshooting faculty and staff HR transactional and process issues.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or HR Management.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a large unionized postsecondary environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in HR processes and career development, especially within an academic or clinical setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to develop and implement department-level HR processes.
