Operations Process Lead

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Process Lead to join our team. This individual will play a key role in developing, advising, and improving department-level processes and procedures. The Operations Process Lead will focus on employee experience, including recruitment, onboarding, faculty evaluation, and career development for both faculty members and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, advise, and improve processes and procedures related to employee experience, including recruitment, onboarding, faculty evaluation, and career development.
- Ensure alignment of department processes with University and HR policies.
- Provide guidance and support on faculty and staff career development, promotion, and evaluation processes.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure consistent and efficient HR practices.
- Supervise the Department Coordinator and AMHSP Coordinator to ensure timely and effective HR support for the department.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for troubleshooting faculty and staff HR transactional and process issues.
- Contribute to the development of annual strategic plans for employee engagement and experience within the Department of Pediatrics.

Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or HR Management.
- 5+ years of experience working in a large unionized postsecondary environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in HR processes and career development, especially within an academic or clinical setting, is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to develop and implement department-level HR processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to take initiative and solve problems effectively.
