Account Manager Job Description

The Account Manager plays a pivotal role in driving business growth by fostering strong relationships with existing customers and identifying new opportunities. This role requires a unique blend of sales, customer service, and leadership skills to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategies to expand existing customer relationships and acquire new business.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless logistics and transportation services.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing concerns and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular sales calls and development calls to drive revenue growth.
  • Prepare and present rate requests to customers, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Participate in sales and management meetings to drive business objectives and goals.
  • Track sales activities and maintain accurate sales reports.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to the business, working closely with the Director of Sales to establish achievable goals and priorities.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Three to five years' experience in distribution, logistics, or transportation, preferably in a supervisory or CSR role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to solve problems effectively and maintain customer relationships.
  • Intuitive sales skills, with the ability to manage daily operations and anticipate future opportunities or challenges.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, customer relationship management software, and logistics software.

A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are also required for this role.
