Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop innovative models to ensure a sustainable pediatric cardiovascular surgery program for Ontario.
  • Work with clinical directors and senior leaders to develop and implement CHEO's perfusionist program.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives with the Vice President Acute Care and Cardiovascular Surgery Leadership Team.
  • Collaborate with counterparts at Sick Kids to maintain evidence-based care and standards across both sites.
  • Build and sustain relationships with key partners to design a regional model for perfusion services.
  • Participate in the selection, maintenance, and replacement of perfusion equipment.
  • Provide profession-specific review and recommendations on best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify legislative issues related to the discipline and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with educational and research organizations to develop and implement joint clinical, research, and teaching initiatives.
  • Coordinate student training opportunities and represent CHEO – OCTC on academic committees.
  • Oversee the quality and safety of perfusion services at CHEO.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with key CV Surgery databases, including PC4 and STS.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication and relationship skills in a multidisciplinary team and with community partners.
  • Experience in leadership, including quality and safety improvements within a team environment.
