About the Role
This position provides professional nursing care to residents and monitors nursing practice to deliver a high standard of care. The successful candidate will provide oversight of resident care treatments and medication administration, as well as guidance, training, and mentoring to assigned staff. They will also ensure a safe working environment and assess, plan, direct, and coordinate all activities necessary for the Long-Term Care Home.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to residents and monitor nursing practice to deliver a high standard of care.
- Provide oversight of resident care treatments and medication administration.
- Guide, train, and mentor assigned staff to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assess, plan, direct, and coordinate all activities necessary for the Long-Term Care Home.
- Lead the application and after-hours operational responsibilities for emergency response procedures, infection prevention and control practices, and occupational health and safety responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Currently in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse.
- Ability to successfully complete Standard First Aid CPR-A certification within 3 months of commencement of the role.
- Must have current successful achievement of the required mandatory AIS Proficiency Evaluation Certificate for Nursing and Allied Health Disciplines.
- As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC), tuberculosis screening, and proof of immunization in accordance with the Long-Term Care Homes Act.
