Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. As a key member of our Central Energy Plant team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of high-pressure boilers, refrigeration compressors, and other critical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, refrigeration compressors, and other equipment to ensure reliable and efficient energy supply.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the Charge Engineer and Maintenance/Relief Engineer to ensure smooth plant operations and maintenance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years' experience as an Engineer in charge of a shift in a first-class plant or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with instrumentation and operating experience with electrical and electronic industrial controls required.
  • Valid and current Manitoba Second Class Power Engineer Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • License as an Instrument Technician, Millwright, Pipefitter, or Electrician.
Working Conditions

The work area is subject to high temperatures, humidity, and noise. The incumbent must take extreme care in performance of tasks as in close contact with exposed high-temperature piping, rotating equipment, and high voltages.
