Job Title: Clinician, Early Psychosis Intervention

About the Role

Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, this Clinician, Early Psychosis Intervention will work as a Therapist and Case Manager in a multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical services to clients in the Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) Program, including assessment, planning, treatment, consultation, and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess and develop treatment plans for clients with early psychosis, working in partnership with clients and their families, as well as facility managers and staff of relevant community agencies.
  2. Act as a primary therapist and case manager, providing diagnostic client assessments and short and long-term individual, group, and family therapy.
  3. Manage cases and formulate treatment plans in conjunction with appropriate staff, including joint care plans with facility Directors of Care, assigned agency staff, and other services.
  4. Facilitate clients' utilization of appropriate community services and rehabilitative programs.
  5. Provide community mental health education and participate in quality improvement and risk management activities.
  6. Participate in clinical research and program evaluation activities relevant to the needs of clients, families, hospitals, and the community.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in a relevant health-related discipline.
  • One year of recent, related experience in a community or hospital psychiatric setting.
  • Eligible for registration with relevant professional associations.
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License and access to own vehicle.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and understanding of mental illness, particularly early psychosis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively network with other services and agencies.
  • Ability to set priorities, organize work, and exercise sound judgment, both clinically and non-clinically.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable regional policies.
