Clinical Specialist, Early Psychosis Intervention

About the Role
Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, this Clinician, Early Psychosis Intervention will work as a Therapist and Case Manager in a multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical services to clients in the Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) Program, including assessment, planning, treatment, consultation, and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop treatment plans for clients with early psychosis, working in partnership with clients and their families, as well as facility managers and staff of relevant community agencies.
- Act as a primary therapist and case manager, providing diagnostic client assessments and short and long-term individual, group, and family therapy.
- Manage cases and formulate treatment plans in conjunction with appropriate staff, including joint care plans with facility Directors of Care, assigned agency staff, and other services.
- Facilitate clients' utilization of appropriate community services and rehabilitative programs.
- Provide community mental health education and participate in quality improvement and risk management activities.
- Participate in clinical research and program evaluation activities relevant to the needs of clients, families, hospitals, and the community.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master's Degree in a relevant health-related discipline.
- One year of recent, related experience in a community or hospital psychiatric setting.
- Eligible for registration with relevant professional associations.
- Valid B.C. Driver's License and access to own vehicle.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and understanding of mental illness, particularly early psychosis.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively network with other services and agencies.
- Ability to set priorities, organize work, and exercise sound judgment, both clinically and non-clinically.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable regional policies.
