About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Resource Teacher to join our team at the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. As a Special Education Resource Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs and collaborating with classroom teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in consultation with classroom teachers, parents/guardians, and students to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services for students with special needs.
  • Collaborate in the IEP development process, including planning for transitions.
  • Assist classroom teachers in generating ideas and suggestions for program accommodations and modifications.
  • Deliver instructional programs for special needs students, providing individual and/or small group instruction in a classroom or small group setting.
  • Assess individual students through observation, information assessment, and standardized educational assessment.
  • Participate in the In-School Team, as appropriate.
  • Facilitate communication and partnerships between parents/guardians and school staff.
