Executive Culinary Supervisor

The Mcewan team is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead our culinary operations. This is a permanent position with competitive pay and benefits.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
About the RoleThis role requires a highly skilled and organized individual who can manage kitchen staff and oversee food preparation and cooking activities across multiple locations.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain accurate records of food costs, sales, and inventory levels
- Supervise and train kitchen staff on new cooking techniques and equipment
- Plan menus and ensure high-quality standards are met
- Lead by example and demonstrate a strong work ethic
Work Setting:
This role will require working at various locations within our organization, including our restaurants and kitchens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of specialist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff
- Instruct cooks on food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques
- Prepare and cook meals and specialty foods as required
- Manage kitchen inventory and ordering
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
