Job Description

The Human Resources Business Partner plays a critical role in promoting a culture of high performance, retention, and inclusion across our organization. Reporting to the Director, HRBP, this service-oriented professional represents the strategic interests of our regions and schools while ensuring fair and equitable support for every employee.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide effective and timely support to School and Regional Leaders on all HR-related matters.
  • Offer advice and counsel to managers on performance management, employment practices, policies, and employment laws.
  • Serve as a respected point of contact for leaders on HR issues, including leaves, disciplinary actions, benefits, compensation, compliance, and employee development.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the HRBP will:

  • Identify managerial skill development needs and deliver individual and small-group trainings to enhance managerial competence and understanding of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coach managers to improve engagement with disagreement and promote a positive work environment.
  • Lead monthly meetings with school leaders to discuss various Talent-related topics and recommend process/customer service improvements.
Employee Relations Resolution

The HRBP will manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conduct thorough and objective investigations, and determine necessary levels of progressive discipline. They will also ensure fair and equitable treatment in pay, performance management, benefits, and other HR areas.

Employment Law and HR Compliance

This role requires expertise in employment law, including knowledge of applicable regional labor laws and internal policies. The HRBP will maintain confidentiality, ensure documents and files are kept secure, and communicate HR policies effectively.

Collaboration and Relationship Building

The HRBP will build strong relationships within the Talent team, Managers, and cross-functionally across schools/departments to communicate and align HR strategy with business needs. They will also support other Talent teams with hiring, promotion, transfer processes, and keep a pulse on all employees to ensure excellent service delivery.

Organizational Development

This role involves partnering with the Talent team to meet developmental and training needs of the business. The HRBP will drive change in a complex environment, communicate and coach for change, and use survey, retention, and exit interview data to propose and inform change.

Analytics and Project Leadership

The HRBP will leverage all systems, tools, and resources to support completion of HR projects, initiate, manage, or participate in special projects, assist in training new users on HR programs and systems, and help establish and maintain HR metrics.
